Tips & Tricks to administer guaifenesin
Always administer guaifenesin with an accurate measuring device. Do not use a household spoon as this may cause an unintentional overdose.
Guaifenesin can and should be administered with a large quantity of fluid to ensure that it works appropriately. This can either be water or the child’s favorite drink.
Breast feeding considerations
Guaifenesin can be present in breast milk if being taken by the mother.
There are little to no reports of mothers taking guaifenesin while breastfeeding, and therefore the effect on the infant is unknown.
