Ensuring your child receives enough vitamins and minerals is vital to their growth and development. Vitamins and minerals play essential roles throughout the body, from helping grow bones, helping wounds heal, boosting the immune system and much more. 

Children can get the needed vitamins and minerals from a balanced diet that has plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains daily. As parents, you can help establish this healthy eating path from an early age. 

If your child is unable to get it from their foods or they have other medical conditions, sometimes they need to take supplements to get the needed amounts of vitamins and minerals.

You will also find examples of different food sources rich in different vitamins and minerals. Finally, you will find a recommended daily allowance for each vitamin and mineral for specific ages.
