01 Overview
PediatricRx ("the App") is a clinical reference and weight-based drug dosing calculator designed for use by licensed healthcare professionals. This Privacy Policy describes how the App handles information when you use it.
Summary. PediatricRx does not collect, store, or transmit personally identifiable information or protected health information. The App functions as a local calculation tool — no account is required, and no patient data ever leaves your device.
02 Information We Do Not Collect
PediatricRx does not collect, transmit, or store any of the following:
- Patient names, dates of birth, or any personally identifiable information (PII)
- Protected health information (PHI) as defined under HIPAA
- User account credentials or login information (no account is required)
- Location data or device GPS information
- Contacts, calendar, or other device data
- Browsing history or cross-app tracking data
- Usage analytics, crash reports, or behavioral telemetry
03 How the App Uses Data You Enter
The only information entered into PediatricRx is the patient weight (in kilograms or pounds) used to calculate medication doses. This value is:
- Used exclusively for real-time, on-device calculation during your active session
- Not saved to any external server, database, or cloud service
- Not associated with any patient record, identifier, or profile
- Cleared when the app session ends or a new weight is entered
Favorites and institution code preferences are stored locally on your device using on-device storage only and are never transmitted externally.
04 Medication Data & App Updates
PediatricRx retrieves medication database updates from a cloud backend (Firebase) when internet connectivity is available. These updates contain only clinical reference content (drug dosing data, formulation information) — no user data is transmitted during this process. The App operates fully offline using locally cached data when no connection is available.
05 Third-Party Services
PediatricRx uses Firebase (Google LLC) as its backend infrastructure solely to host and deliver medication database content. Firebase does not receive any patient information, user-entered weights, or personally identifiable data from this App.
Firebase's privacy practices are governed by Google's Privacy Policy, available at policies.google.com/privacy.
06 Children's Privacy
PediatricRx is intended exclusively for use by licensed healthcare professionals. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any information from individuals under the age of 13. The patients referenced within the App's dosing calculations are not users of the App.
07 Data Security
Because PediatricRx does not collect or transmit personal data, the risk surface for a data breach involving user information is not present. All clinical reference content delivered through Firebase is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections.
08 Your Rights
As no personal data is collected, there is no personal data to access, correct, export, or delete. If you have questions about how the App handles information, you may contact the developer directly using the information below.
09 Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically. Any changes will be reflected by an updated effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to provide notice within the App.
